Food for Thought |
- Lord, I know no better proof of your health and strength than this scene. You had the gift of sleeping in any situation. You slept on the cushions in the stern while the waves were beating and almost swamping the boat.
- And when you awoke, you brought calm. To voyage with you is to voyage in peace even in a storm.

ARE YOU NEW TO OUR PARISH? WELCOME! |
Welcome to those who want to make our parish their faith home. You may have come from other places. You may have been “away for a while”. Be assured that we love to have you among us. We would appreciate it very much if you identified yourself at Mass. It would also help if you would take the time to fill out a registration form. The next time you are with us, you may leave it in the collection basket or give it to one of the ushers or to the priest.
Thank you and welcome. |

CATECHESIS TWO FULL DAYS SYMPOSIUM
Five years ago, on the feast of Pentecost, Bishop Ebacher launched the diocesan catechetical project with the document "Discovering Jesus Christ: The Path to Freedom". Our Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) studied this document in depth and used many of the suggestions outlined so that we could "... journey from the practice of preparing the sacraments to the practice of learning to live a Christian life ...... become communities that are schools of catechesis".
On the fifth anniversary of this catechetical project, clergy and lay-people are invited to participate in a symposium to be held at the Diocesan Center on Friday, August 28th and Saturday August 29th at a cost of $45.00 per person for the two days. The objectives of the symposium are to: Celebrate our accomplishments; Rediscover our catechesis roots; Share our catechesis practices; Identify our needs with respect to spirituality in our families, in our schools and in our Christian communities; and, Define certain challenges that this catechesis exercise faces today as well as propose tools and experiences to meet these challenges.
Some members of our PPC are planning to register for this symposium. Please note that the registrations are still open if anyone else wishes to attend. Also be advised that this is a two day symposium. However, you may register for either one or two days as per your availability. Please call the parish secretary (819) 986-3763 to register or if you wish to obtain more information.
