| Food for Thought |
- The boy might well have stayed quiet about his little hoard of food, but he let Andrew know about it. What happened next touches me deeply. Jesus Christ needs what we can bring him; we may not have much to bring, but he needs what we have.
- If we hoard what we have, who knows what miracles may be stopped from happening.

BAPTISM
The sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated in OLV church on Sunday, Sept. 20th. 2009. Parents requesting Baptism for their child are invited to leave their names with the parish secretary. A member of the Baptismal Team will call the parents regarding the evenings of preparation. Please be aware that the next Rite of Baptism will not take place until January, 2010. Often, our first consideration is choosing godparents, so to help you with this decision, please note the following directives: “In terms of Church law, only one godparent is necessary, although a godfather and a godmother are preferred; they must be at least 16 years old, have been confirmed and participate in the Eucharist, leading a life in harmony with the Church.”
FIRST COMMUNION
If you have a child eight years old and older and are interested in
having them receive their first Holy Eucharist, please contact the office at (819)986-3763), before August 31st.

CATECHESIS TWO FULL DAYS SYMPOSIUM REMINDER
This Symposium ibis taking place at the Diocesan Center on Friday August 26th and Saturday August 29th at a cost of $45:00 per person for the two days. This is a two day Symposium. However, you may register for either one or two days as per your availability. Please call the parish office at (819) 986-3763 to register or if you wish to obtain more information.
REMINDER
Just a reminder that the OLV garage sale will be held on Saturday September 19th and Sunday September 20th. Please note the hours:
Saturday: 9:00 - 16:00
Sunday: 10:00 – 16:00
DON’T THROW OUT your items. RECYCLE them for our sale. On Friday, September 18th the church will be opened from 9:00 - 15:00 for you to drop off your goods. If you can not wait until that day, please call Monique Simpson at 986-3166 and pick up will be arranged.
