FIRST COMMUNION & RECONCILIATION
Seventeen young parishioners of OLV and St. Malachy will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time this week and twelve will be receiving the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist for the first time today during Mass. They are as follows:

CONFIRMATION
The preparation sessions for Confirmation will take place at St. Aloysius. If you were not baptized at OLV or St. Malachy, you must request a copy of your Baptismal Certificate from the parish where you were baptized.
BAPTISM
Anyone requesting Baptism for their child should call the parish office (819) 986-3763. There will be several evenings of preparation and you will be advised of the dates.
MARRIAGE PREPARATION COURSE
The next Marriage preparation course will be April 2010. Please contact Angela Davis from the Diocese to register. She may be reached at 613-237-0093.
PRAYERS & SYMPATHY
Your prayers are requested for Reine Mercier, sister of Lorraine Ivall who has died and whose funeral was held at St. Gregoire Parish this week. Please remember her in your prayers and our sympathy and prayers are with Lorraine and her family.

The 2010 Sunday Envelopes are still available at the office. Please call the office at 819-986-3763 to request or pick up your envelopes. This is the only record that we have in order to issue Income Tax receipts for your donations.

DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE

Each Lent, Development and Peace, the Canadian Catholic Church’s international development agency, invites Canadian Catholics to give, with love, to those with the least in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. The popular Lifestyle Awareness Calendar helps families reflect on the gifts they enjoy, and collect alms so that others may share in the feast of life.
This year the Calendar has more activities for families with young children, including growing a Lenten plant that can be used as a Symbol of Solidarity. A copy of the Calendar is included with the bulletin. Tell others about it. Development and Peace’s annual collection will take place the weekend of March 20-21, Solidarity Sunday. |

OLV WARDENS
The next Wardens meeting will be on Thursday February 18, at 7:00 pm. There is still a vacancy for one Warden, and we are looking for a volunteer. We are also looking for more Ushers. If you are interested and can help out, please call the office at (819)986-3763. If you are interested in any of the other ministries, help is always welcome. Just call the office and let us know.
PAINTING OF THE INTERIOR OF THE CHURCH
Plans are underway for the painting of the interior of the church. Dates have not been finalized and Parishioners will be advised in advance.
INCOME TAX RECEIPTS
If you wish to have a receipt for income tax purposes, you may do so at any time. Just put a self addressed stamped envelope in the collection basket or call the office at 819-986-3763.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST
The ladies auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 54 Buckingham is sponsoring a pancake breakfast on Sunday February 21, 10:00 am - noon. The cost is $5:00. Please encourage our local branch of the Legion in their activities. For more information or tickets, please call Val at (819)986-6249.

FUND RAISERS FOR CANCER:
CANS & BOTTLES DRIVE - Just a reminder that I am still collecting these for the Relay for Life which will take place on June 11. You can bring them to OLV Church and place them in the blue bin to the left when you enter or I can pick them up.
BAKE SALE FOR CANCER - This is a year round project and I thank all who have contributed. To date $135:00 has been raised.
BAKE SALE FOR CANCER: On Sunday February 28th from 10:00 am – 2:00pm, a bake sale (dessert only) will be held in the church hall.
