For all the austerity of his life, John spoke to people in words that they could grasp. It was his austerity that drew people‘s respect and trust .He was a man who cared nothing for comfort, money, or fame, who could not be bought, and who could speak the truth without fear.

MORE DONATIONS FOR THE OLV ROOF PROJECT
The wardens would like to thank Arlene Brunke for her donation of $100.00 towards our roof project. We appreciate her support. Also, an anonymous individual has donated $1,000.00 towards the roof project and we thank this donor as well.
LIONS CLUB TELETHON
Once again the Parishioners of out two parishes have shown their generosity by donating $850.00 towards the Lions Clubs annual Christmas food basket drive. Parishioners will be interested to know that since 2005, Parishioners from our two Parishes have donated almost $5,000.00 towards supporting the Lions club Christmas Campaign. In total this year, the Lions Club raised a record total of $83,600.
ST. MALACHY WARDEN VACANCIES
Please note that one Warden is required for a three year term. If you wish to become a Warden, you may call the office at 819-986-3763.or contact one of the Wardens. If you know someone who might like to become a Warden and help with his/her parish in that capacity , you may nominate that person, but please have his/her acceptance prior to the nomination. Nominations are required by December 26th, 2010. The Term begins January 1st, 2011.

FUND-RAISING CONCERT REMINDER
Our annual Christmas Concert with La Chanterelle will be held on December 15th, with the ticket price being $10.00, children under 12 will be admitted free and the concert will start at 7:30 PM. Tickets can be obtained from members of La Chanterelle, the Wardens, from Alma or at the door.
CHRISTMAS TEA
The Society would like to thank all who contributed, worked, decorated, and attended our Christmas Tea. A total of $1,017:00 was raised. A special thank you to Mrs. Lotz for her donation of an afghan for our raffle. Thanks also to Regis Lemieux and Bev Belter for their raffle donations.
Just a reminder that there are some meat and pumpkin pies available to sell. Please call Monique at 986-3166 if interested. Also the apple pie venture is now complete A total of $403.00 has been raised giving $203.50 to each parish. Thanks to all who helped to make this venture a success.
BAKE & CRAFT SALE
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion are having their Craft & Bake sale on December 19th, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m . Everyone is welcome.
A Happy Christmas for Jennifer
A few weeks ago, Parishioners were asked to help out a young woman who was expecting a baby in December and who needed some material support. We have good news on two fronts. Through the generosity of a number of individuals, Jennifer has all the furniture and clothes she needs both for her and the baby. On November 30th, Jennifer gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and baby Heather are doing well.
A special thanks to Phil D’Aoust and Lyall Campbell for their assistance in picking up and delivering furniture to Jennifer’s apartment.
CEREAL BAR DRIVE
The collection of cereal bars for the Buckingham Elementary School breakfast program will be next Sunday, December 19th. Your donations are appreciated.
