At any Baptism there is a prayer and anointing to protect from evil. Baptism was Jesus immersing himself in the call of the Baptist to walk with his people on the way of God through the evil and sinfulness of the world.
The oil of Baptism gives strength and protects us from evil like suntan oil protects the body from the sun; the water of God gives life like the water of a well or a river gives life to the body.
Protect me, Lord, from anything that leads me away.

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Our two parishes are in the process of determining if there will be sessions for sacramental preparation for Reconciliation/First Communion as well as Confirmation. In order to better plan for these sessions, parents should register with the Secretary no later than January 30th, 2011 for both sacraments. Once registrations are received, we will determine what, when and where these sessions will be offered.
ST. MALACHY WARDEN VACANCIES
Please note that one Warden is required for a three year term. If you wish to become a Warden, you may call the office at 819-986-3763, or contact one of the Wardens. If you know someone who might like to become a Warden and help with his/her parish in that capacity , you may nominate that person, but please have his/her acceptance prior to the nomination. Nominations are required by December 26, 2010. The Term begins January 1st, 2011.
ST. MALACHY FABRIQUE
- will present a Financial Report for 2010, at a meeting of the Parishioners in January 2011.
PRAYERS & SYMPATHY
Your prayers are requested for Bernard Gravel, husband of Betty Ann Lemieux, brother-in-law to Edward, Regis and Irene Lemieux whose funeral took place on Saturday. Our prayers and sympathy are with Betty Ann and her family.

ROOF PROJECT DONATIONS
Thank you to Tom and Isabelle Laframboise for their second donation of $1000.00 towards our roof project. Their continuing support is greatly appreciated. Also, thank you to the Ladies of the Country Club 2000 for a donation of $200.00 towards our roof project.
JOINT VENTURE
Our joint pie & jelly venture has been very successful. Like always there is some start up expenses, however, here is the breakdown:
Meat pies - $282:00
Apple pies - $403:00
Apple Jelly - $103:00
Each parish received a total of $394:00. It must be noted that 20 meat pies were donated to the needy, Thanks for your support by participating or purchasing our products. (

CEREAL BAR DRIVE
As next week, January 16th, is the third Sunday of the month the collection for cereal bars for the students Buckingham Elementary School will take place. There will be a box at the entrance of the Church, Thank you for your generosity.
