Food for Thought |
- Lord, I used to think religion was a matter of keeping the rules. But when you walked this earth, you preferred to mix with those who had broken the rules ----- not because they broke the rules, but because their hearts were open and humble.
- Dare I say that I can be grateful for my sins? They are carriers of grace.

ARE YOU NEW TO OUR PARISH? WELCOME!
Welcome to those who want to make our parish their faith home. You may have come from other places. You may have been “away for a while”. Be assured that we love to have you among us. We would appreciate it very much if you identified yourself at Mass. It would also help if you would take the time to fill out a registration form. The next time you are with us, you may leave it in the collection basket or give it to one of the ushers or to the priest. Thank you and welcome.

BAPTISM
Our Christian community of Our Lady Victory welcomes Emma Manon Falimina Abouanni, daughter of Charbel- Michael Abouanni and Annie France Joyce. May the Lord of love bless and keep you. She will receive Baptism June 08th.
49TH INTERNATIONAL EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS IN QUEBEC CITY - JUNE 15TH TO 22ND
Most of us will stay home, but that does not mean that what will take place in Quebec City does not concern us. Yes, our diocesan delegation -- registered at 132 delegates at our last count -- will join the other pilgrims from around the world, to participate in what has been named “a rich experience, following in the footsteps of the Disciples of Emmaus.”
As a matter of fact, our own Linda Cameron goes there next week to represent our two-parish community at the request and with the support of our joint Parish Pastoral council and both Wardens' groups. She has been given the responsibility to return to us to share the fruit of her pilgrim journey there.
But we too have a responsibility. Let us pray that the Spirit leads her there and back safely; that she be enriched and nourished by this sacred gift of God; that she returns inspired to share her stories, her faith, her insights with us who remained at home here.
Let us also remember in your prayers Bishop Felix Toppo from the home Diocese of Father Gyan in Eastern India, as he will be attending the Eucharist Congress as well as visiting Father Gyan and his parishes. May he have a blessed and safe journey.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL!
It was amazing to see so many people able to share in the little hair chopping ceremony we had last Sunday after mass at OLV. I am so very grateful to all who made it happen and so successfully, too! To Monique, mighty-organizer. To Ethel, #1-hairbraider. To my 5 sensitive hair-chopping accomplices. To all who so generously played the 'how long is Gale's hair' game. To all who were able to share the experience after Mass. To all the well-wishers before and after.
To the OLV Society for their generous donation to my Relay for Life pledge form. And to Karen, miracle-worker hairdresser. Heart felt thanks to each and to all of you!
We speak a lot about 'faith' and 'living Christ' but we don't always connect the dots when it comes to fund-raisers and other Fellowship events such as this.
There are 4 poles of Christian living (Faith formation, Liturgy, Transformation and Fellowship) and each are important, necessary and co-dependant on the other three, in our attempt to live our whole lives as 'real' Christians. This little hair-chopping event not only brought us together, but brought us together in Christ's love for the world. We were/are his Hands and his Feet, here! So thank you!
OLV SUPPER & SILENT AUCTION
