PILGRIMAGE TO THE OUR-LADY-OF-FATIMA GROTTO IN MANIWAKI, SATURDAY, AUGUST 16, 2008
You are invited in great numbers to the second annual pilgrimage to the Our-Lady-of-Fatima Grotto in Maniwaki, Quebec, on Saturday, August 16. At 2:30 p.m., there will be a gathering at the grotto beside the “L’Assomption” Church, located at 326, rue du Couvent in Maniwaki, followed by a procession in the streets of Maniwaki with recitation of the Rosary in French, English and Portuguese.

The procession will be followed, at 4:20 p.m., by a blessing of the sick in the church, and at 4:30 p.m., by a Mass presided by Mgr Vital Masse, Bishop of Mont-Laurier and concelebrated by Mgr Roger Ebacher, Archbishop of Gatineau.

At 6:00 p.m., there will be a spaghetti diner at $5 with an evening of cultural exchanges, in the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 239 King St. (all signers, dancers and musicians welcome). Do bring your flowers and banners if you so wish. Info: Toll-free: Isabelle Begin, 1-866-445-9695.

ALTAR SERVERS
We are looking for Altar servers for Sunday Mass. Are you interested? If so, you may call Monique at (819)986-3166 for more information about serving or call and leave your name at the Rectory (819) 986-3763.

GARAGE SALE
The Society will be holding a Garage Sale on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 8 am to 3 pm. No big items or clothes will be accepted. On Friday the church will be open from 8 am to 8 pm to accept your goods. Call Monique at 986-3166 if pick up is required. Also if you would like to sell your own goods, you can purchase a table for $10.00 and are responsible to take away your goods at closing time.

CANCER BOTTLE DRIVE
Are you tired of seeing all those empty soda bottles, cans and beer bottles hanging around? I will gladly pick these up (or you can bring them to the church every Sunday) turn them into cash and donate to the 2009 Relay for Life event.

This event will be held on June the under the Brady Bridge. You were all generous in helping us make this a success event: Will you help me accomplish this again?

I am looking at this as my project, from now until May 2009, please call 986-3166 to begin to fulfill this dream.

USED STAMPS
One cancelled stamp can help feed a child for a day. If you would like to Support the Redemptorist Mission Stamp Collection, there will be a box at the entrance of the church to collect your stamps, and they will be forwarded to the Missions.
