The temple was not just the center of the Jews’ civilization; it was the place where God lived amongst them. Jesus told them that it was all going to fall apart!
Is there any way in which my secure center – either personal or national – threatens to collapse? The key words from Jesus in all of this are "Do not be terrified."
Can I allow Jesus the Consoler, to speak to me, wherever I am?

CHRISTMAS TEA
The OLV Society Christmas Tea will be held on:

On behalf of OLV parishioners, the Wardens would like to thank the Caisse Populaire in Buckingham for their donation of $1,000 towards our roof fund. We appreciate their support and community spirit and it should be noted that this donation was given to the parish even though at present, we are not a client of the bank.

TWO FUND-RAISING CONCERTS IN DECEMBER
|
The month of December will see plenty of musical activity at Our Lady of Victory designed to meet different musical tastes. The first concert is scheduled for the 9th of December and will feature the styling of the Heart and Soul Gospel Choir. The theme for the evening will be a Gospel Christmas celebration. The admission price is only $ 5.00, with children under 12 admitted free. The concert will commence at 8:00 pm. Tickets can be obtained from members of the Choir, from Alma or at the door.
The second concert will be our annual Christmas Concert with La Chanterelle and will provide a completely different repertoire with a traditional bilingual flavour. This concert will be held on December 15th, with the ticket price being $10.00, children under 12 will also be admitted free and the concert will start at 7:30 PM. Tickets can be obtained from members of La Chanterelle, the Wardens, from Alma or at the door. Tickets will go on sale on November 22nd.
Following both concerts, coffee and desserts will be served in the church basement. Profits resulting from the concerts will be shared with Our Lady of Victory and will go to support our roof project. The wardens are encouraging as many parishioners to assist in these two events. While we recognize the proximity of both concerts, these concerts meet OLV’s fund-raising objective of bringing our community together through very affordable activities.
Bottom-line is for a total of $15.00, parishioners and friends can enjoy and support local artists, and at the same time help our funding drive and enjoy fellowship with family and friends.

FUNDRAISER
The orders for pies have now been filled. Any extras will be sold at the Christmas tea.
WARDENS MEETING
The next OLV Wardens meeting will be held on Thursday November 18 at 7:30 p.m.
CEREAL BARS
Your donations of cereal bars will be collected next Sunday November 21, and delivered to the school. They will be given to the children who do not have breakfast at home before coming to school. Your donations are appreciated by the School Principal, Staff and Students.

A COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION NEEDS YOUR HELP
| Maison de la famille Vallée de la Lièvre is a local not-for-profit community based organization located in Buckingham which offers support towards the well-being of families. This support is provided through a number of measures, such as: developing the parenting skills of young parents; assisting in developing and building parent-child relationships (0-17); encouraging parents to become active in their child’s development; as well as providing a general support network for parents.
Maision de la famille has received another request for assistance. This time it is for a young woman who is pregnant and is expecting a baby girl on December 24th. According to our contact, she has no money. She is in need of the following items:
- crib
- playpen
- washing machine
- couch
- glasses
- cups
- pots and pans
